At Sunshine Renewable Solutions, we help commercial and industrial clients modernize aging solar systems through full and partial repowers. Solar repowerings restore performance, reliability, and long-term value.
Many early solar installations in Texas were built with first-generation equipment that no longer meets today’s standards for safety, efficiency, or uptime. Through system upgrades, we extend the productive life of existing solar assets and improve energy output/operational stability.
With proper upgrades, we can add 10–20+ years of productive life to an existing solar installation, often at far lower cost and with far less disruption than a full rebuild.
Sunshine Renewable Solutions manages the entire process. We ensure all upgrades comply with current NEC requirements and utility-specific standards, so systems remain fully warrantied and optimized for reference-level performance.
Evaluation of inverter health, communication issues, string performance, rapid-shutdown compliance, and utility interconnection constraints.
Design of a targeted repower plan using modern, high-reliability components selected for performance, safety, and long-term serviceability.
Safe removal and recycling of outdated inverters, wiring, combiner boxes, and other underperforming balance-of-system components.
Installation of new inverters, updated monitoring systems, and upgraded electrical infrastructure to meet current code requirements.
System testing, string reconfiguration, voltage balancing, and verification of immediate performance improvements.
Activation of monitoring, documentation of new warranties, and optional long-term operations and maintenance support.
Our team completed a full system repower at Church Project in The Woodlands, Texas. The original installation relied on aging inverter technology that had begun to fail, leading to frequent downtime and reduced generation.
After a comprehensive system audit, our team designed and executed a full upgrade to the inverter and electrical systems to improve voltage balance. The legacy equipment was removed, and modern commercial-grade inverters were installed. The monitoring and electrical infrastructure were upgraded to the current codes.
The system was then recommissioned and performance-tested to confirm improved output. The results were immediate as the system reliability was restored and daily production increased. The operational uptime exceeded 99%.
Whether it’s addressing chronic downtime, outdated equipment, or safety requirements, a solar repower can transform an underperforming system into a dependable asset.
Sunshine Renewable Solutions provides end-to-end repower services. From evaluation and engineering through installation and long-term support, so that clients can maximize the value of their existing solar infrastructure.
