I want to start off by saying that I really didn’t want to write this review, but unfortunately the actions of the Adam, the Chief Integration Officer, and the rest of the project management team at Sunshine Renewables warrant it. This is the second time we have contracted Sunshine Renewables for a project on our house. We came back because of the wonderful experience we had with Shannen Munden who sold us on solar + batteries and the installation and site survey teams that have taken care of our property and answered all our questions. While we had issues with delivery dates on the first project, they pale in comparison to what we have experienced over the last month. There is a clear disconnect between project/business management and the sales/engineering/installation teams. I have been bullied and talked down to on the phone from Adam when I called out the company for lying to me about a code change that never occurred. I was quoted a system that is 5kWh over the maximum storage limit per the electrical code that was published in 2021 and implemented in 2024. Not even a week after signing the contract, I was told that there would be a change order to increase the cost $1500 citing a change to the city of Houston electrical code regarding the maximum capacity for a battery stack. When I requested additional information in writing, including the written code, I received phone calls instead trying to explain the situation. Adam called and instead of trying to listen to where we were coming from, berated me for not understanding the code and told me that “most customers will just accept a code change and not actually go and look up the code”. He told me that I need to “trust that he wouldn’t’ lie to me” after someone on his team had already lied to me about the reason for the change. He then sent an email with “options” – none of them being the installation of the complete system at the original agreed upon price. He also told me that even though we had a strict requirement for our battery stack placement due to spacing concerns when we signed the contract, we would not get a full refund if we were to be released from the contract. We are now four days away from the promised 60 day installation window and no progress has been made. I sit here wishing that I had paid attention to the red flags on the first installation and found a different company to provide the same services.

Great company! It's very hard to find a solar installer you can trust. I interviewed 8 companies and they all fed me the same line of bologna. But Tommy was very upfront and very informative of the process and expectations. Their bid wasn't the lowest I received but it was by far the best value. They did not overinflate their production estimates, in fact im doing better than predicted. The PM, Mike, and the install crew were top notch. Responsive and courteous and did great work. A year later I ran I to some roofing issues unrelated to their work and they were quick and courteous to respond. I liked them so much I also turned my sister on to them and she was also happy. They are not as well known in Houston but they were vetted by a local solar coop and that's how I found them and knew I could trust them. I wasn't disappointed

We installed 63 solar panels and a battery back-up system in February, 2023 at our home near Denton. While the upfront expense was large, the savings have been enormous for our 6,500 square foot home. Our electricity bills were averaging around $673 per month, and are now averaging less than $100 per month. As a Realtor, I also know that in addition to the energy cost savings, the investment in the system will pay off when we are ready to sell the home. Sunshine Renewable Solutions was great to work with, from the design phase to the installation phase to the go-live phase. While we had a few hiccups along the way, Sunshine promptly took care of them. We would definitely recommend the company.

I highly recommend Sunshine! I called a handful of solar companies and they all refused to help me out after my company went out of business. Sunshine gave me a quote and came out and finished the job the next week! Incredible experience!

From the start you really can tell that Sunshine Renewable Solutions is different. They truly care. I was hit by so many "Solar is Free" and "The Government Pays 4 Solar" ads that I had to look more into solar. The first solar installation companies were very pushy and tried to get me to sign right away BUT I did my due diligence. That is when I found Sunshine as one of the highest rated companies online. I was really impressed that they had a 5 star rating with over 100 reviews AND they are local. Was a Win Win.

Sunshine recently finished our solar installation and we couldn’t be happier! The whole team was a pleasure to work with. They handled all of the red tape that comes along with permissions, inspections, and the guidelines that my utility provider required for grid connection. They even handled dealing with me! I turned out to be a little (ok, a lot) more picky than I was anticipating, but they kept working with me as my understanding evolved and I narrowed down what it was that I really wanted. There was never even a hint of sales pressure on their side. It was truly a process of understanding what it was that I wanted to achieve and turning that into thoughts on how to get there. The installation went smoothly and everyone involved did great work. Most importantly of all, the system has performed great! So, what are you waiting for… give them a call!
